Privacy Statement
For the purposes of this Privacy Statement, "we" means Fairfax New Zealand Limited
trading as The Press newspaper and our partner with the PressPass Research Panel,
Futurescape Global Ltd (Partner).
As a member of the PressPass Research Panel we are committed to maintaining your
privacy and anonymity. When you join the PressPass Research Panel your personal
information and responses are treated as completely confidential.
The PressPass Research Panel has partnered with two companies to make sure your
experience as a member is enjoyable and secure. Futurescape Global Limited (Futurescape)
is committed to achieving the highest level of privacy. Read more about our Partner

When we run surveys and ask for your opinion your responses are aggregated by our
Partner prior to people at The Press viewing the results. This way, we don't link
your contact details to your responses and your anonymity is preserved.
If we ever want to talk further to panel members because of interesting statements
made in surveys or for other reasons, our Partner will contact you to get your permission
for The Press to contact you, prior to us being given your name and email address.
Your trust in the PressPass Research Panel is a responsibility we honour. Here are
the other commitments we make to you:
- We will not make any personal information of our panel members
available to anyone without your permission, except in the rare instances required
by law. This includes your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address.
- We will not use your contact details from your panel membership
to try to sell you anything - the purpose of the panel is to gain insight into our
readers and their views on The Press . Also, we will not provide your contact details
to anyone else who might try to sell you anything.
- We unequivocally promise to hold details of your participation
on the PressPass Research Panel in strictest confidence.
- We will only use the contact information you give us to email you
regarding participation in surveys, to validate information you have given, or to
provide information on incentives and the PressPass Research Panel developments
and new initiatives. Very occasionally we may use the email address to ask your
permission to take part in other activities.
- At any time you can log in at www.presspass.co.nz to view the membership details we have on
record about you, and at this time you can edit your details or cancel your membership
by clicking on 'unsubscribe' either in your membership area in emails that are sent
to you.
Finally, as is the case with any information you provide to any business operating
in New Zealand, information provided to the PressPass Research Panel is subject
to disclosure if we receive a judicial or other Government subpoena, warrant or
order.
